07: NEW A7 Asymmetric
Following the first Class Globe 580 Transat in 2021, Don decided there was a hole in the sail wardrobe for heavy downwind tradewinds and even light close reaching when the A5 was at risk of blowing out downwind or too full for upwind light weather work when the JIB was simply too small… Time was spent looking at all options and working with Quantum to develop a new A7. Here is the difference/comparison with the three asymmetric and the first group of owners to order the A7 are full of praise for this versatile new sail! If you are thinking TRANSAT or MGR it is an absolute must-have sail.
08: Twin Headsails
Twin Headsails in a twin luff groove headsail reefing system. This plan has worked very well for entrants doing it in the 2024 TRANSAT. It simply means ordering a second Furling Jib and setting two in the luff groves hoisted on the same swivel and able to run wing and wind in heavy weather downwind.
