My dream to sail a little boat across a big puddle of water will, for better or worse, probably not fade soon. However, as I have committed to a career in the military, I will have other concerns in the meantime.

That is why I’d love to see this boat go for a new adventure. Since having sailed her back from Ireland there has been quite some progress made on making Molly Claire look her best, ready for the next big adventure!

Built by the legendary Jim Schofield with a particular focus on sturdiness, reliability and repairability. Key features include:

  • Triple-laminated fibreglass construction
  • Solid teak rudder
  • Solid oak structural beams

As expertly documented on his Tiktok, Jim ensured every part was as strong and simple as possible, proving her ocean worthiness by sailing her across the Atlantic.

Her Hull and keel are now completely redone, having completely stripped previous layers, sanding with professional gear, she shines!

New layers of primer, lacquer and a 2 copper based component antifouling for the underwater parts, means she will be shining and growth-resistant for years to come!
